Welcome

We are helping hands for refugees and immigrants.

Dr. Justin Byakweli facilitating
refugees to be resettled in USA.
The Center for Employment and Education Development Services (CEEDS) was founded in 2011 to come alongside refugees and immigrants from around the world to help them be planted and flourishing in their new life.
Many of these refugees and immigrants are coming to the Twin Cities from the Democratic Republic of Congo because, after seventeen plus years of civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the U.S. Government has approved the resettlement of 50,000 Congolese families to the United States. It is estimated that 5,000 to 7,500 of these families will be settled in Minnesota within the next four years.

In order to help refugees and immigrants be planted and flourishing in their new life we partner with local ministries, resettlement agencies, and the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Planted:
We work to connect with new arrivals before, during, and after their placement with their resettlement agency. We seek to connect with them in their language and to help them build strong relationships with others in their new home. We do this by connecting them to community, youth, family, health and wellness services and ministries near them.

Flourishing:
We believe that the best social services for refugees and immigrants is to help them be independent. We work to connect individuals to organizations and services that help to provide training, job opportunities that would be a good match for them.

We invite you to join us in being helping hands to refugees and immigrants in the Twin Cities.
